Best Paper and Book for Fountain Pens
So I've completed one LiveNotes A5 Tomoe River book, two Midori MD A5 books, one Life A5 Notebook, and written on small Rhodia notepads. I just bought two more of this and I'm never buying any other notebook again, and will forever be staying with LiveNotes as long as stock remains lol.
The way this paper interacts with ink is just unique. I'm a huge fan of sheening inks, and sheen appears beautifully on Tomoe River paper. But beyond that, even non-sheening ink simply works better on this paper. They do not bleed or feather (or do so less for the reaaaly naughty inks), and have very little show through on the paper.
LiveNotes uses 68gsm paper which was originally produced by the original Tomoe River machine in Japan. (photo on PenGallery's Instagram). Once this stock runs out, I'm guessing PenGallery will have to switch to Tomoe River S paper, which is still great but a little different. I'm going to be hoping this stock remains for some time since I've gotten used to this paper!
