Inspired by Murakumo, the Japanese expression for “gathering clouds,” HANE Murakumo captures a fleeting moment of movement and transformation.
Each fountain pen is finished in white Japanese Urushi lacquer and held over a dancing flame, where candle smoke naturally traces unique patterns across the surface. No two pens are ever alike.
Using the traditional Nuritate technique, the lacquer is left unpolished, preserving its soft satin texture and the subtle marks created by heat, air and time. These natural variations are not imperfections—they are the signature of the artisan and the story of each individual piece.
Created through the collaboration between SCRIBO and Japanese Urushi masters, HANE Murakumo represents a meeting of Italian design and generations-old Japanese craftsmanship.
Each pen is accompanied by a handmade pouch crafted from Japanese kimono silk, making every set truly one of a kind.
Limited to 110 pieces worldwide.
