Pilot Corporation released the second product in its "Cha no Megumi" (Blessing of Tea) series of genuine leather accessories, "Cha no Megumi Pen Case". This product uses "Lezza Botanica® Tea Stamp CF (Chrome-Free)" (*), an upcycled leather made from the liquid extracted from tea leaves discharged during the manufacturing process of Ito En Co., Ltd.'s green tea beverages.
The newly released "Cha no Megumi Pen Case" is a single-pen case that uses Rezza Botanica® (genuine leather) for the outer fabric , gently protecting and carrying your precious writing instrument. The inner lining uses a soft, brushed artificial suede fabric (polyester) to firmly protect your writing instrument. When the pen case is opened, it takes the shape of a single "leaf," and it comes in three colors that express the world of tea: a deep green reminiscent of deep-steamed tea, a bright and vibrant light green like new tea, and a roasted green tea that gives a sense of the natural texture and warmth of leather .
The raw cowhide used for the pen case is from high-quality Japanese Black cattle, and the leather tanning process utilizes "tea leaf dye," which is made from upcycled tea leaves. This "tea leaf dye" has antibacterial and deodorizing effects due to the tannins contained in green tea, as well as a tanning effect that enhances the preservative properties of the raw hide and prevents deformation . The tanning process is carried out domestically to ensure thorough quality.
