Founded in 2014 in Tamsui, Taiwan, Lennon Tool Bar is inspired by the traditional art of indigo dyeing—an industry that flourished in Taiwan over a century ago. At the time, Taiwan exported doroai, a key raw material for indigo dyes, to the Japanese Empire.
The brand draws from these historic dyeing techniques and classic indigo tones, translating them into a modern and distinctive colour palette.
The Poetry of Light: Yen Ran
The series, “Zhuó Yĩng,” takes its name from the illusion created when fabric is washed in water, capturing the nightly scenes of a dedicated fabric dyer.
Yen Ran: Beneath the stars and moon, the dyer stirs the vat through repeated soaking and oxidizing. A deep, tranquil indigo emerges—quiet and beautiful, like the night sky above.
While the Poetry of Light dye based shimmer inks are safe for both fountain and dip pens, Lennon Tool Bar recommends regular pen cleaning to ensure smooth use.
