Founded in 2014 in Tamsui, Taiwan, Lennon Tool Bar is inspired by the traditional art of indigo dyeing—an industry that flourished in Taiwan over a century ago. At the time, Taiwan exported doroai, a key raw material for indigo dyes, to the Japanese Empire.
The brand draws from these historic dyeing techniques and classic indigo tones, translating them into a modern and distinctive colour palette.
The Poetry of Light: Huo Jiang
The series, “Zhuó Yĩng,” is inspired by the illusions seen when fabric is washed in water, capturing the nightly work of a dedicated fabric dyer.
Huo Jiang: As the fermenting dye is stirred, the surface breaks with a shimmer of indigo, revealing vibrant earthy yellows and hints of red—a living spectrum that reflects the dynamic colors of the dye.
While the Poetry of Light dye based shimmer inks are safe for both fountain and dip pens, Lennon Tool Bar recommends regular pen cleaning to ensure smooth use.
