Founded in 2014 in Tamsui, Taiwan, Lennon Tool Bar is inspired by the traditional art of indigo dyeing—an industry that flourished in Taiwan over a century ago. At the time, Taiwan exported doroai, a key raw material for indigo dyes, to the Japanese Empire.
The brand draws from these historic dyeing techniques, translating them into a modern and distinctive colour palette.
Lennon Tool Bar – Hu Ye
Part of the Summer Limited 2026 collection, Hu Ye is inspired by the Tiger Guardian, one of the protective beasts in traditional Taiwanese folk religion. These guardians stand beside the deities in temples, protecting worshippers and keeping evil spirits away. Hu Ye is a symbol of courage, strength and protection. It is believed to guard temples and drive away bad luck and disasters. Worshippers traditionally offer raw eggs as a sign of gratitude for its protection.The ink features a warm golden ochre with rich honey and earthy brown undertones, inspired by sunlit earth and aged wood. Its beautiful shading ds warmth and depth to every stroke.
