Founded in 2014 in Tamsui, Taiwan, Lennon Tool Bar is inspired by the traditional art of indigo dyeing—an industry that flourished in Taiwan over a century ago. At the time, Taiwan exported doroai, a key raw material for indigo dyes, to the Japanese Empire.
The brand draws from these historic dyeing techniques and classic indigo tones, translating them into a modern and distinctive colour palette.
Lennon Tool Bar Ink All Kinds of Spirits Vol. 2 - Catfish Spirit
The Catfish Spirit once resided in a small pond, but feeling confined by the limited space, it summoned torrential rain that flooded houses and lands. As a consequence, it was struck by a divine thunderbolt and perished, leaving behind a local place name as its legacy.
The catfish came to be a symbol of agricultural fertility and protection of fishing communities, believed to bring rain which was essential for good harvests, as well as balance of aquatic ecosystems.
