Purchased from PenGallery in July. Purchase experience here is great. After a few months use I can say this is a very pleasant writing experience and a fantastic every day fountain pen.
Understated design is lovely and well thought out. Clip and cap is secure and clicks off/on with ease but enough resistance to know that it's not going to fall off accidentally.
Weight and balance make this a comfortable pen to use for long periods posted or unposted.
Ink flow is generous without being too wet.
<EF> nib is a bit thick - Similar to Pelikan 18K <EF> or Sailor 21K <MF>
Piston filler is great for ink volume (don't have to refill every day,) however the ink window is not very clear so still a guessing game as to when the pen is full.
Very good value gold nib pen.
This is the first gold nib pen i have purchased. It writes amazing. Very happy with the purchase. The pen was shipped fast and arrived safely.
Received my Lamy 2000 EF nib few days ago, great pen. Very smooth even with the EF nib. Fast shipping form Pengallery, very happy with the purchase.
- Ink window is an added bonus but wasn't very helpful.
- Quick cap deployment makes it easy for quick note jotting.
- Surprisingly functional pocket clip.
- Very lightweight for long session writing.
- Beautiful understated pen.
- Writes like a dream when written in the sweet spot angle.
- Durable material makes it a good rugged pen for someone clumsy.
Bought this one as my first gold nib pen, and let's say I find it hard to go back to steel nib now..
Excellent fountain pen
My L2k comes with fine nib. This is my first gold nib, writes very well.
My lamy 2000 performs well so far.Really like the piston filling system.
I got my Lamy 2000 with a fine nib, I don't have much experience with fountain pens but I feel that the nib is pretty smooth. The piston filler holds a nice amount of ink. I was inspecting the pen when I received it, and there was some traces of ink on the nib, I guess that it was tested prior to being sent. Pen has a nice feeling in the hand, though I always get condensation on the nib during warmer times, so I'm guessing the pen kindda retains heat. The cap is a push-on, so that makes it convenient to use compared to a screw on cap. The spring loaded clip is a nice feature too. Overall a solid pen
