Kobe INK Monogatari #83 Koikawa Ipe Yellow
From 1908 to 1971, many immigrants departed from Kobe’s port for Brazil, forging a lasting connection between the two countries. In Koikawa-suji, the Brazilian national tree, Ipe, was planted to commemorate this bond, blooming with brilliant yellow flowers each spring. Marking 115 years since the first voyage, cultural ties continue through the Nikkei community. This color is inspired by the vibrant yellow blossoms of Brazil’s national tree, Ipe.
