The Conklin 1898 Spectra Fusion Collection combines traditional craftsmanship with modern materials technology. Each pen uses professionally stabilized maple burl, which is infused with epoxy to improve durability, moisture resistance, stability, and workability while preserving the wood’s natural grain. The collection takes this further by hand-pouring pigmented epoxy resin into and around the stabilized wood, creating a strong hybrid material with translucent, layered, jewel-like visual effects. Vacuum-degassing helps produce a clean, bubble-free bond and polished finish. The pens retain Conklin’s distinctive 1898-inspired cigar shape, engraved cap ring, and crescent clip.
They are offered in Blue Fusion, Burgundy Fusion, Blue Fusion, and White Fusion, with each color limited to 1,898 pieces.
