In some of those famous Japanese novels, such as The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari) or The Tale of the Hollow Tree (Utsubo Monogatari) there is a mysterious sounding word, Hisoku, which means “the secret color!” Hisoku is a pale green color like the color of a celadon, and this color name is attached because the blue green color with a gray unique ash is a mysterious beauty.
