The SCRIBO La Dotta Bamboo Limited Edition marks the beginning of a symbolic trilogy inspired by resilience, renewal, and inner balance. Drawing from the timeless meaning of bamboo, strength that bends without breaking, the pen reflects a quiet philosophy of endurance, integrity, and hope for the future.
Created in collaboration with Urushi master Takeshi Matsuyama, the pen is finished in natural lacquer applied through a meticulous, time-honoured process. The surface features an Ishime texture reminiscent of winter earth, while delicate Maki-e decoration in gold and silver powders forms a bamboo motif across the body like a living ideogram. The nib carries a dedicated engraving — a subtle, intimate detail revealed only in use.
Limited to 68 individually numbered pieces, each pen bears its progressive numbering and “Bamboo Limited Edition” engraving on the filling system ring. The artist’s signature and the SCRIBO name engraved in katakana appear on the cap, reflecting a refined dialogue between Italian craftsmanship and Japanese artistry.
Presented in a handmade wooden box tied in traditional Japanese style and wrapped in a kimono fabric pen pouch, La Dotta Bamboo is both writing instrument and ritual object, an invitation to begin anew with clarity, strength, and quiet determination.
The first of three editions, it is followed by Pine and Plum, completing a trilogy of enduring virtues.
