In 1996 Pelikan introduced the Level 5 Fountain pens with a absolutely new and modern refilling system. They come with a very big ink filling The Level 5 is available in the blue black finish. The model Level has an special ink bottle. This ink bottle could be used as pen stand also.
The entire barrel of the Level serves as ink storage. Closest to the nib is the writing reservoir, which is separated by a valve from the rest of the storage tank. A separation of reserve tank and writing tank was required to ensure a safe venting of the tank via the ink feed system. Turning the valve wheel on the end of the holder opens this lock and new ink can then run from the storage tank into the writing reservoir.
Last produced 2001 and they are now available at PenGallery and we are now selling them off for the last time and have limited stocks. This are old new stocks.
System: Special filling system (the bottle ink is refillable with any Pelikan color inks but it is now come with ROYAL BLUE ink)
Nib type: Steel Medium nib only.

very nice pen and very well package i just took it out of the packaging and its sitting on my desk .
I had wanted this pen ever since I was gifted the roller ball version several years ago so I’m very happy to have it at such a good price. I took off half a star because I think the ink bottle I got isn’t able to expel ink, as I couldn’t fill the pen following the instructions, but I worked out a solution for that so no big drama. The pen itself looks very smart and the nib writes nice and smoothly. Certainly won’t need to fill it for a while with that ink capacity. Overall, very happy.
