The new Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania collection reawakens the spirit of exploration. Eternal Egypt, Eternally Fascinating, from Roman emperors to modern-day travelers, ancient Egypt has captivated the imagination for millennia. Seduced by the allure and mystery of the land of the pharaohs, early 20th century explorers set out on expeditions to uncover secret treasures. The discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb and the mysteries inside it created one of the biggest cultural events of the 20th century. A new era of Egyptomania has dawned influencing every part of the arts and intellectual life - from the Art Deco movement through films and literature to unique writing instruments. Created in partnership with an expert Egyptologist, the octagonal precious resin cap of the writing instrument is decorated with authentic hieroglyphs that translate as “white stone mountain”, denoting Montblanc.
The Heritage Collection Egyptomania celebrates the pioneering spirit of Montblanc. Reinterpreting the writing instrument, it features a longer, slimmer silhouette and craftsmanship refined over generations. With its octagonal shape, this writing instrument is reminiscent of the octagonal-shaped writing instruments designed by Montblanc in the 1920's, which included Egyptian-style engravings: so-called "Egyptian pens". Created in black precious resin and platinum-coated metal, it features "Montblanc" on the cap in Egyptian hieroglyphics, and a scarab beetle on the clip.
